Raymond Damaze (Club Captain)

Ray is ELCC’s captain for 2009.  Raised in Hackney but with St Lucian ancestry, Ray is part of a generation of young schoolboys who idolised the great West Indian cricketers of the 1970s and 1980s.  His nonchalant style while at the crease belies his ability as an astute tactician.  A useful medium pacer and occasional wicket keeper, the skipper seeks to lead by example.

Granville

Possibly the fittest member of the side, Granville is ELCC’s man of mystery.  No one is quite sure of his origins but he is a popular member of the team.  Granville is a nippy seam bowler and mature batsman.  He is quite possibly ELCC’s secret weapon, so the least said about him the better…

Rafique Ahmed (Vice Captain)

A bowler with genuine pace, Rafique proves that it’s not only youngsters who can bowl aggressively.  As a batsman he can be quite a handful when he gets his eye in.  Rafique has an astute cricketing mind and is among the senior players in the side.

Abu Choudhury (Treasurer)

A slow right arm bowler, Abu has mastery of all manner and variation of spin bowling. While his offbreaks can rip and fizz, his legbreaks are his biggest weapon. With his ability to make the ball dip prodigiously, on his day he is a dangerous foe for any level of batsmen. His own skills with the bat have steadily improved with greater emphasis on the cut shot a. Abu is a regular contributor to Cricinfo and Bangla Cricket.

Abdul Muqaddim aka Maruf

Let us always keep heart in the strife
While our wickets are defended,
For there always in hope while there's life,
And the match isn't lost till it's ended!
But whether we win or we lose,
If we fight to the very last minute,
The intent of the game is always the same -
To strive that elccc may win it!
Stand up and shout with a ring,
Care to the wind let us fling,
The elccc above is the elccc we love!
